Karma > Karma is a horrible club. The music was okay, but you can't really have fun when there is a bouncer always in your face. I will be taking my buisness to Ultra nightclub next time. Karma is the worst !!!!! Delvonna Pierce

View Lounge

View Lounge > My friend booked a VIP at the begingin of February for her birthday celebration on April 21st. She rented a limo and everything it was her big night well thanks to the view her big night was destroyed. She kept in contact with someone all night before we got there her section was secure and a down payment was put to secure the place. We got off the limo one of the bouncers received us asked for the name the reservation was under. We proceeded to make the line on the vip section and then one of the bouncers told us "Guys I'm sorry but it is not happening tonight, we are over capacity." We all looked at each other confused and sid but theres a reservation? And they still said it is not happening. We asked to speak to someone in charge and the bouncer sai"The managers hide behind the desk and make us deal with this" They offered to call Monet and book a VIP section there they assured us they had already call and then we called Monet to make sure and they said they had not spoken to anyone from the view and all the VIP areas were occupied. Needless to say this was the worse experience in a night club ever poor management at its best. When you book events like that you make sure you leave that space for the people already paid and then let the other ones in. Never going back again to that place will bash their name wherever I go you guys SUCKED and ruined my friends big night. Ashley Pittman

Blush Wine Bar > The wine selection is amazing. I have never seen so many different varieties of wines in one place. Not to mention the place in itself was very classy. Definitely a place to go with some friends or even on a date. Im not a huge wine guy but I would drink more wine if i went to Blush every weekend. Cprecario2

Pearl > this place is worse than a sleezy car dealership.

don't go here, if you want a real club go to Boston or somewhere downtown providence.

We had arranged for a birthday party here, and the owner continuously told us that the place gets packed at night and especially on a Friday night and for a party of about 8 people we had we would want to get a private room.

we showed up, we were the only people in the whole place. dont get me wrong the atmosphere was really great, the club would be awesome if it was in a different location, but the sleazeballs running this place must be going under or something to treat us the way they did.

they took our cc for a deposit they said, and also told us dont worry as we were sitting down to eat that the place would fill up gradually. After a 340 dollar bill for 8 people, with mediocre food and slow service, it rounded 11pm and still there was probably one other group of people in the whole club with us.

I walked up to the hostess and asked to speak to the owner or a manager, because i did not feel it was at all necessary to put us in a room when the entire rest of the club was empty. at first she agreed with me, btw she totally needed a breath mint, it was gross. she comes out saying the owner is in the back but will not come out to speak with us, and that they had already run our card, and we could not get any money back.

i flipped out. i have been around the nightclub scene for years now, working in both Newport & Boston, this was not my first rodeo, and i knew exactly what they were doing, they saw an opportunity to make money on a slow night, and in turn treated their customers like sh*t.

i said this is ridiculous we were literally the only people in the whole place and they wanted to give us a private room with a bar tender. after arguing for an hour with the staff, and saying the owner is a complete joke if this is the way he will treat people, i was passed onto a man who said he was the owners uncle and would be his spokesman. I said you cant even give us half off the room or something?? or at least a bottle of vodka, (valued at $200+) at this place, they came back and offered me a bottle of cheap champagne for free. thanks, dick.

I literally felt like i was at a shady used car dealership. they kept going to the back and coming out with different answers and excuses, after all and not wanting to ruin a birthday night for our group, we decided to go across the empty dance floor to the room they put our money on, and we overpaid for watered down drinks for the rest of the night.

this place is a sad excuse for a "nightclub" and its a shame because the inside really is pretty cool. they have piss poor service though and are way over priced save your money and go to Ultra, or head north to boston.

Celtic Lounge

Celtic Lounge > I came down to visit my daughter at Brown and this place was recommended by one of her friends who obviously had a drinking problem or was used to cafeteria fare. What struck me was the rudeness of the staff. While we were waiting for our tables to be wiped down, the redheaded sloth of a bartender who spent five minutes straightening napkins finally came over to us as though she was doing us a favor. My daughter ordered a drink and she proceeded to argue about what she wanted. By that time we were finally seated so we cancelled and she tried to tell us we would have to pay and tip her, and we refused. The waitress had a little more personality, but the bartender glared at us most of the night and asked us on our way out if we were going to honor the tip. The food was less than average, and the service was slow. Next time we'll hit McDonald's. DanKent

Tantric

Tantric > Terrible. The DJ, whose name is DANIELLE, is so terrible. On a night where Top 40, Latin, Hip Hop and R&B were promised, as advertised on THEIR OWN WEBSITE, Ms Danielle chose to play ONLY techno music... without words!!! Not only that, but when I made a request for her to play other music, the music she was supposed to be playing, she told me to, "Go Home.". Not only that, but the only people that were dancing to this terrible music selection were 3 drunk people and her friends, who were surprisingly nice people *we met them at the bar. Legit good people). The moral of the story is never, NEVER, EVER go to Tantric, or ANY other club where Danielle, is allowed to be the DJ. She doesn't play what she is supposed to, she doesn't give the people (i.e. paying customers) what they want, and she is downright rude. Sounds like a trifecta to me. Jessp

Celtic Lounge > Went in here on a Sunday night 2/19 with our groupon coupon. The restaurant had only five tables filled so that should've warned us. The waitress gave us a table of our choice and when we said we had a groupon, she had no clue what it included. My fiancee asked if she could substitute wine instead of beer on the order. The waitress was blunt: NO SUBSTITUTIONS. Then came the fun part: ordering! Whatever we wanted from the menu, they were OUT. They were out of the special. They were out of bbq ribs. They were out of lobster ravioli. And guess what, the waitress couldn't tell us what they had so we had to order TWO entrees apiece just in case one of the entrees wasn't available. Oh, did we say she was working by herself?? No other dining room help so you can judge how slow service was. The appetizer was good. We didn't know what we were getting to eat until the food arrived. No kidding. I got chicken which was way over cooked. The vegetable medley was soggy so I suspect it came from a frozen bag. And the baked potato??? If I didn't know any better, I swear it was from the night before and warmed up for Sunday dinner!!! How can an Irish pub screw up a potato? My fiancee ordered a rare steak. It was literally RAW in the middle. That was sent back where the cook (or perhaps waitress) cooked it some more. As she has worked in the hospitality service before, she suspects highly the steak was pulled from a freezer and thawed in a microwave before cooking on the grill.
I can't remember a worse dining experience. I will never come here again and if I just want a beer, I'll walk a block or two over to either Trinity or Murphy's. I can't see this place lasting long. The restaurant should've CLOSED on Sunday given the lack of available entrees. I don't see how it was profitable to stay open. There weren't customers and the poor service hurt any type of reputation they might have had.

ArtBar > It is technically 25+ but in reality it is 40+ and the music (on a Friday at least) is all hip-hop from the 70's. The bartender is great, but everything else was so bad it was funny. Michael Sweeney
